Harvesters of Hope Participates in Alabama Power Foundation’s 2026 Elevate Conference

Harvesters of Hope was honored to participate in the Alabama Power Foundation’s 2026 Elevate Conference, an event focused on strengthening the strategic impact and capacity of nonprofit organizations across Alabama.

As a 2025 Alabama Power Foundation grant recipient, Harvesters of Hope is grateful for the Foundation’s continued investment in organizations working to strengthen communities throughout the state. Since its inception, the Alabama Power Foundation has invested more than $300 million in Alabama communities.

Harvesters of Hope Executive Director Tom Heflin attended the conference alongside Margaret Morton, representing Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE) and the East Alabama Rural Training and Innovation Hub (EARTH).

Harvesters of Hope is proud to work with SAFE and EARTH on efforts to address legal deserts across East Alabama, where limited access to attorneys and legal services can create significant challenges for individuals, families, and communities. Through this collaboration, the organizations are working to expand access to services while supporting broader economic revitalization in the region.

These efforts are also being strengthened by Harvesters of Hope attorney Cole Zirbel, who established his law practice in Sylacauga in 2026 as part of the organization’s work to increase access to legal services in underserved communities.

Harvesters of Hope extends its appreciation to Margaret Morton for her leadership and dedication to East Alabama and to the Alabama Power Foundation for creating opportunities like the Elevate Conference that help nonprofit organizations build stronger, more sustainable communities.
