Harvesters of Hope Brings New Legal Resources to Moulton

Harvesters of Hope has announced the opening of a new law office in Moulton, Alabama, marking the launch of attorney Nic Cavender’s legal practice at Thompson & Associates on Alabama Highway 157. The new office expands access to legal services for residents of Lawrence County and surrounding communities.

Harvesters of Hope is a nonprofit initiative created to support the Alabama State Bar’s mission to address legal deserts across the state. The program recruits, mentors, and supports attorneys who choose to establish practices in underserved areas. In the second half of 2025, Harvesters of Hope has helped seven attorneys open new practices, with more planned in the months ahead.

Originally from Arab, Alabama, Cavender earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama and his law degree from the Jones School of Law at Faulkner University. Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September 2025, he has been serving local residents under the mentorship of Jerome Thompson in matters including probate, adoptions, and real estate law. Leaders with the Alabama State Bar have emphasized that communities like Moulton represent opportunity zones where local attorneys play a vital role in strengthening access to justice and community stability.
